Product Description

The 2004 Banzhang Organic Golden Gourd Raw Pu-erh Tea is a rare and distinguished aged Sheng Pu-erh, crafted from carefully selected ancient tree leaves sourced from the legendary Banzhang region of Bulang Mountain, Yunnan. Pressed into a traditional golden gourd shape and naturally aged for over two decades in Guangdong storage, this 500g tea cake represents the finest expression of Banzhang terroir and traditional Pu-erh craftsmanship.

The dry leaves display a beautiful oily shine and aged luster. Upon brewing, the tea liquor reveals a bright orange-gold clarity with a mature aged aroma, smooth full-bodied texture, and a long-lasting sweetness that lingers on the palate. The balance of strength, depth, and transformation makes this an exceptional tea for both seasoned Pu-erh enthusiasts and discerning collectors.

The gourd shape carries deep cultural meaning — "葫芦" (húlu) echoes "福禄" (fú lù), meaning fortune and prosperity — making this tea not only a pleasure to drink, but also a meaningful gift and an elegant piece of Chinese tea art.

Brewing Guidance

Rinse & Awaken
Break off 5–8g of tea and rinse once with boiling water (100°C / 212°F) for 5–10 seconds. Discard the rinse water to open up the leaves and release the aged aroma.

Brewing Method (Gongfu Style Recommended)
• Teaware: Yixing clay pot or porcelain gaiwan
• Water Temperature: 100°C / 212°F (full boil)
• Tea Amount: 5–8g per 100–150ml
• First 3 Infusions: 15–25 seconds
• Subsequent Infusions: Gradually extend by 10–15 seconds each
• Yield: 10–15 infusions

Alternative: Western Style
Use 3–4g per 300ml, steep for 2–3 minutes at 100°C. Suitable for a lighter, more casual brew.

Storage Tips
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space away from strong odors and direct sunlight. Avoid airtight containers — aged Pu-erh benefits from gentle air circulation to continue its natural transformation.
