Gaiwan Method
Warm the gaiwan with hot water.
Add tea leaves (fill 1/3 to 1/4 of the gaiwan).
Rinse quickly with boiling water and discard.
Start drinking from the 3rd infusion.
Best taste: 4th–5th brew.
Clay Teapot Method
Warm the teapot.
For 250ml water:
Modern-style Liubao: 10g tea
Traditional-style Liubao: 6–7g tea
Rinse quickly with boiling water and discard.
Start from the 3rd infusion.
Thermos Steeping
Add tea to a thermos (adjust amount to taste).
Rinse quickly with boiling water.
Refill with boiling water and steep 5–10 minutes.
Stovetop Simmering
Tea-to-water ratio: about 1:50.
Rinse tea twice with boiling water.
Simmer over low heat 10–20 minutes.
Let rest 5–10 minutes off heat before drinking.
