Huangjingui Golden Osmanthus Oolong | Anxi's Earliest Harvest | Floral Aroma & Golden Liquor

Huangjingui Golden Osmanthus Oolong | Anxi's Earliest Harvest | Floral Aroma & Golden Liquor

Huangjingui — The "Transparent Heaven Fragrance" of Anxi

Among all oolong cultivars, Huangjingui (黄金桂) holds a singular distinction: it is the earliest budding variety in production, earning it the beloved local names "Qingming Tea" (清明茶) — the tea of early spring — and "Transparent Heaven Fragrance" (透天香), a name that says everything about what awaits in the cup.

Its golden liquor, osmanthus-like fragrance, and bright, clean sweetness make Huangjingui one of the most distinctive and immediately recognizable oolongs in China. One steep, and the aroma fills the room.

Origin

Originally cultivated in Meizhuang Village, Huqiu Town, Anxi County, Fujian Province — the birthplace of this extraordinary cultivar. Today, the finest Huangjingui continues to come from Huqiu's Luoyan area and surrounding townships including Daping, Jiugu, and Jiandou, where the terroir perfectly expresses the variety's signature floral character.

What Makes Huangjingui Unique

  • Earliest Harvest: The first oolong of the season, picked before most other varieties have even begun to bud — capturing the freshest, most vibrant energy of early spring
  • "Transparent Heaven Fragrance": An exceptionally high, soaring floral aroma that rises freely and fills the space around you — unlike any other oolong
  • Golden Liquor: A luminous golden-yellow brew, bright and clear, as beautiful to look at as it is to drink
  • Osmanthus Character: The tea's name says it all — a natural osmanthus-like sweetness woven through every sip

  • Flavor: Smooth, mellow, and refreshingly clean — a fine, lively sweetness with no harshness
  • Finish: A gentle, lingering sweetness (hui gan) that returns softly and stays
