About Ancient Wuni Clay

Wuni (乌泥, "dark clay") is one of the most storied clays in Yixing tradition. Dense, mineral-rich, and slow to fire, it produces a surface that is deeply matte when new and develops a rich, dark luminosity with use. Its tight grain structure makes it an exceptional conductor of heat — ideal for teas that reward a long, steady steep.
