Why Zisha Clay?
- Breathes with your tea β Zisha's natural micro-porosity allows the clay to absorb the oils and essence of your tea over time, building a seasoned patina unique to your brewing habits
- Superior heat retention β keeps your tea at the ideal temperature longer than porcelain or glass
- Flavor enhancement β dedicated use with one type of tea (oolong, pu-erh, etc.) deepens and refines the flavor with every session
- Ages beautifully β the more you use it, the richer and more lustrous the clay becomes
Why Mini?
Small-capacity teapots (100β150ml) are the gold standard for serious Gongfu Cha. The compact size encourages multiple short steeps, allowing you to experience each infusion as it evolves β from the bright, floral first pour to the deep, mellow finish of the fifth or sixth steep.
Seasoning Your New Teapot
- Rinse the teapot inside and out with boiling water
- Place in a pot of cold water, bring to a gentle boil, and simmer for 10β15 minutes
- Remove and allow to cool naturally
- Brew your first pot of tea β discard this brew; it is for seasoning only
- Your teapot is now ready for a lifetime of use
Care Instructions
- Never use soap β it will be absorbed by the clay and taint future brews
- Rinse with hot water after each use and allow to air dry with the lid off
- Dedicate this pot to one type of tea for best results
- Handle with care β Zisha clay, while durable, is a natural material
