Mudan Hanjiang Yixing Teapot — Handcrafted Ancient Wuni Clay, 170ml
Mudan Hanjiang Yixing Teapot — Handcrafted Ancient Wuni Clay, 170ml
Mudan Hanjiang — Peony in the Winter River
A name of striking contrast: the peony, China’s most opulent bloom, set against the cold river of deep winter. The Mudan Hanjiang teapot holds that tension beautifully — bold in presence, restrained in form. It is a pot for those who understand that the most powerful things often say the least.
Handcrafted from rare Ancient Wuni clay (原矿古乌泥), this 170ml pot is compact enough for a focused solo session yet substantial enough in the hand to feel like something serious. The internal ball-filter spout delivers a smooth, precise pour — no drips, no interruption, just tea.
About Ancient Wuni Clay
Wuni (乌泥) is one of Yixing’s darkest and most storied clays. It fires to a deep, near-black charcoal tone with a surface that feels almost matte when new — then slowly warms and deepens with use, building a rich patina that collectors describe as “alive.”
Its dense grain structure retains heat exceptionally well, making it ideal for teas that need time to open: aged pu-erh, roasted oolongs, and dark teas with layers that reveal themselves slowly, steep by steep.
