Wu San Di Hua Xiang Gao Cong Shui Xian | Wuyi Rock Oolong — Light-Medium Roast, Floral & Water-Sweet

Wu San Di Hua Xiang Gao Cong Shui Xian | Wuyi Rock Oolong — Light-Medium Roast, Floral & Water-Sweet

High Mountain Floral Elegance — Wu San Di Gao Cong Shui Xian

Wu San Di (吴三地) is one of Wuyi’s most celebrated high-altitude growing areas — a site where cool mountain air, mineral-rich soil, and elevation combine to produce Shui Xian of exceptional floral expression. This Gao Cong (高丛) — tall-bush — Shui Xian is sourced from mature, deep-rooted tea bushes that have developed concentrated aromatic potential over many years. Finished with a light-to-medium charcoal roast that preserves the floral character while adding gentle warmth, this is a Yancha for those who love their oolong fragrant, sweet, and effortlessly smooth.

Three Layers of Fragrance

Top Note — Lid Aroma: Open the lid and the floral fragrance arrives immediately — vivid, elevated, and generous. The high-mountain Shui Xian character is unmistakable: a clean, high-pitched floral sweetness that fills the space around the cup, bright and alive from the very first pour.

Mid Note — Fragrance in the Liquor: The floral aroma does not stay on the lid — it sinks fully into the body of the tea. Every sip carries the fragrance with it: clean, sweet, and completely integrated into the liquor. The water is sweet and smooth, with the floral note woven through from entry to finish.

Base Note — Cold Cup: Set the gaiwan aside after the session. A gentle, lingering floral sweetness remains on the lid — clean and soft, with the quiet warmth of the light-medium charcoal roast in the background. No harshness, no off-notes.

In the Cup

The liquor is clean and sweet on entry — light, refreshing, and completely free of harshness or astringency. The floral sweetness flows smoothly through the palate, and a clear, clean sweetness rises back through the throat after each sip. The yan yun (岩韵) of Wu San Di Shui Xian is gentle and floral — soft rather than forceful, building quietly and staying pleasantly. A Yancha that is welcoming from the first cup and rewarding across the full session.

Product Description

Wu San Di (吴三地) is a high-altitude growing area within the Wuyi mountain range, prized for the exceptional floral expression it brings to Shui Xian. The elevation, cool mountain air, and mineral-rich soil create conditions that concentrate aromatic compounds in the leaves, producing a floral character that is vivid, clean, and distinctly high-mountain in quality.

This Gao Cong (高丛) Shui Xian is sourced from mature tall-bush tea plants — older, deeper-rooted bushes that have developed the aromatic complexity and internal richness that younger plants cannot match. A light-to-medium charcoal roast finishes the tea with gentle warmth, preserving the floral character while adding just enough depth to round out the experience.

The lid aroma is vivid and high-pitched — a generous floral sweetness that fills the space around the cup from the very first pour. In the liquor, the floral aroma sinks fully into the body of the tea, making every sip as aromatic as it is smooth. The entry is clean and sweet, the texture light and flowing, and the yan yun (岩韵) is gentle and floral — soft rather than forceful, building quietly and staying pleasantly through the session.

For those who love their Yancha fragrant, sweet, and gently complex. Wu San Di Gao Cong Shui Xian is the answer.

Brewing Guidance

Vessel: Gaiwan or small Yixing teapot (recommended)
Water Temperature: 95–100°C (203–212°F)
Leaf Amount: 7g per 100–150ml

Steeping Guide:
• Infusions 1–3: Pour and drain immediately — flash-brew to capture the vivid floral lid aroma at its brightest. Do not steep or stew.
• Infusions 4 and beyond: Gradually increase steeping time by 5–10 seconds with each steep.

⚠️ Important: Never cover and steep (no stewing). This light-to-medium roast Shui Xian is best enjoyed with short, controlled infusions that keep the floral character clean and bright.

Number of Infusions: 7–9 infusions

Tips:
• Use near-boiling water to fully activate the high-mountain floral aroma
• A quick rinse before the first steep helps open up the fragrance
• After each session, smell the cold gaiwan lid — the lingering floral sweetness is one of Wu San Di Shui Xian’s most distinctive pleasures
