Seasoning Your New Zisha Teapot (First Use):
1. Rinse the teapot inside and out with hot water to remove any dust from production
2. Place the teapot (lid separate) in a pot of cold water; bring slowly to a gentle simmer
3. Add a handful of the tea type you plan to use most (e.g. pu-erh, oolong, or black tea)
4. Simmer gently for 20–30 minutes, then turn off heat and allow to cool naturally
5. Remove, rinse with clean hot water, and allow to air dry — your teapot is now ready
Daily Brewing:
— Warm the teapot with hot water before each session
— Use one tea type consistently to allow the clay to develop a focused patina
— After each use, empty the leaves, rinse with hot water (no soap), and leave the lid ajar to air dry
— Gently wipe the exterior with a damp tea towel during or after brewing to encourage the patina
