Yixing Zisha Teapot | Royal Blue Duan Ni with Hand-Engraved Peony | 180ml Gongfu Tea Pot
Yixing Zisha Teapot | Royal Blue Duan Ni with Hand-Engraved Peony | 180ml Gongfu Tea Pot
Where ancient craft meets living art.
This is not simply a teapot — it is a canvas. Crafted from rare Bao Lan Duan Ni (宝蓝段泥), a prized raw ore clay from the Yixing region of Jiangsu, China, this teapot is hand-engraved by a skilled artisan with a sweeping peony motif — the flower of prosperity, nobility, and feminine grace in Chinese culture. Each piece is unique; no two engravings are identical.
At 180ml, it is the ideal size for a focused Gongfu Cha session — generous enough for sharing with a guest, precise enough to reveal every nuance of a fine tea.

About Bao Lan Duan Ni
Duan Ni (段泥) is one of the three classic Yixing clay families, known for its warm, sandy texture and excellent breathability. Bao Lan — meaning "precious blue" — is a rarer variation with a distinctive cool-toned hue that deepens and warms with use. Raw ore Duan Ni is unblended and unprocessed, preserving the clay's natural mineral composition for superior flavor clarity.
- Natural micro-porosity — the clay breathes, absorbing the essence of your tea and building a seasoned patina over time
- Excellent heat retention — maintains brewing temperature longer than porcelain or glass
- Flavor-enhancing — dedicated use with one tea type refines and deepens every brew
- Ages with beauty — develops a rich, lustrous surface the more it is used and loved
The Peony Engraving
The peony (牡丹, mǔ dān) has been celebrated in Chinese art and poetry for over a thousand years as the "king of flowers" — a symbol of wealth, honor, and feminine beauty. Hand-engraved into the clay before firing, the motif becomes part of the teapot itself, not a surface decoration but an expression of the maker's hand.
Seasoning Your Teapot

- Simmer gently in a pot of cold water for 10–15 minutes
- Cool naturally, then brew and discard your first pot of tea
